Who we are:

  • Kybolt Ltd., a game development company with address 71-73 Rock Road, Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland.
  • All data covered by this policy will be stored in either the EU or the US.
  • We do not sell data to third parties or use it for purposes of spam.

Visiting Our Websites:

  • Our websites use the open-source analytics platform Matomo, which gathers non-personally identifiable information about our visitors.
  • This is a self-hosted analytics solution which does not pass data to third parties, and ensures a high level of data privacy to you.
  • Data includes anonymised IP addresses, time and duration of visit, browser signatures, referral information. Matomo may also a place a first-party cookie for purposes of identifying return visits.
  • We collect this information to guide the improvement of our web services, understand where traffic is coming from, and measure the success of marketing campaigns.
  • This data will be stored for up to three years.
  • Matomo is configured to respect the “Do Not Track” protocol. You may opt-out of cookie placement and data collection on our websites by adjusting this setting in your web browser.

Signing Up for our Mailing Lists:

  • If you submit your email address to sign up for a mailing list, we will email you to confirm your subscription and then add you to that mailing list.
  • The data stored is your email address, the mailing lists it has signed up for, and the date on which your subscription was confirmed.
  • We use this solely to send you the emails you signed up for.
  • These services are operated using self-hosted software and servers.
  • This data will be stored either until you unsubscribe using a link in one of the emails we send, or until no emails have been sent for 2 years.

Creating an Account:

  • You may choose to create a Kybolt Account, which will allow access to some of our communication services. This process involves submitting some personal information to us, including email address and validating that you are over 13 years of age.
  • If you input data to our services while logged into your account, we will store that data and associate it with your account. We also store session details, including time and IP address used to login.
  • We do this to facilitate communication to other users, to enable us to moderate our community’s behaviour, to analyse user activity and trends, and to ensure the valid and authentic use of your account.
  • This data will be stored for up to three years after an account is closed or deemed inactive.
    • However, it may be stored indefinitely if information was a public-facing communication (such as a comment on our website).
  • In line with GDPR, you may request an export or erasure of this information, for which we may choose to charge a reasonable data-processing fee if we are dealing with a high volume of requests.

Playing our Games:

  • You may choose to use your Kybolt Account to access our gaming services.
  • As with most online gaming services, we may (but are not obliged to) collect data extensively that will be associated with your account. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Details of login attempts and times, session durations, IP addresses, client download and update attempts.
    • Details of network connectivity, such as download speeds, ping, and packet loss.
    • Metrics relating to how users use the client, the shop, and navigate game lobbys.
    • All communications, friend requests, reports, etc., both in-game and out-of-game.
    • Recording of all game sessions, both single-player and multi-player.
    • Information relating to our virtual economy, such as quantities and times of virtual currencies and items earned or received, and purchases made with real money.
      • We do not store the information used to process your payment; that is handled by a third party.
    • Account details, including those used to offer matchmaking services, assess player skill, behavioural scores, and track achievements.
    • If you provide us with debug logs, these may contain additional personally identifiable information about your PC. We use this information only for the purposes of debugging problems and improving our services.
  • We use this to guide the improvement of our services, to offer communication services and moderate them, to improve upon our business model, to inform game design and balance, to allow for account recovery, for purposes of marketing the game, and to investigate and act upon breaches of our Terms of Service.
  • This data will be stored for up to three years after an account is closed or deemed inactive.
    • However, it may be stored indefinitely if the information was a public-facing communication (such as a publicly broadcasted event or esport tournament), or is in our view necessary for the enforcement of a ban.
  • We use a combination of our own software and Amazon Web Services to provide these services globally. Some of your data will be handled by Amazon Web Services, whose Privacy Policy you may view here.
  • We may share this data in anonymised and aggregate form with third parties of our choice, including the general public, for the purpose of discussing how we operate our business.
  • You may opt out of some data collection that is non-essential to our gaming services.
